Holistic model of care

Village Health Works focuses first on treating illness through primary health care services, then uses its unmatched community engagement to implement programs in sustainable agriculture, education, and economic development.

Quarterly Report

Each quarter, Village Health Works compiles a detailed program report that outlines our progress, achievements and challenges.  The report includes updates on our clinical, education and economic development programs.

Become one of our greatest champions.

There are many ways we can work together to help improve the lives of Burundi's most vulnerable people. As a Global Villager, you can ensure that the communities Village Health Works works with will continue to have access to quality health services, life-altering economic empowerment programs and so much more each and every month.

Burundi is a small country in the heart of the Great Lakes Region of East Africa. The majority of the population lives in rural areas and relies on subsistence farming to survive. Due to a prolonged civil war between 1993 and 2006, Burundi has experienced very slow development and is plagued by poor health outcomes, a failing education system and weak infrastructure.

Village Health Works is a grassroots,  501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization  that provides quality, compassionate, dignified health care in rural Burundi, East Africa
