Charitable Giving

Thank you for your interest in Village Health Works, currently working in Kigutu. With the kind help of generous donors, VHW has constructed four new buildings in Kigutu, started to supply electricity with a 40 KVA generator and potable water to the clinic and community, equipped the clinic with a VSAT, purchased an ambulance and a staff transport vehicle, procured supplies of medicines and equipment, hired and trained seven Burundian clinical staff members and 36 community workers, and cared for over 16,000 patients in our first nine months of operation.

Our current funding needs include:

  • Medication resupply
  • Construction of a community health worker and Staff training facility
  • Provision for ongoing operating expenses (staff salaries, transportation, and communication)
  • Construction of the Kigutu Clinic sanitation infrastructure
  • Construction of maternity and pediatric wards
  • Construction of a guesthouse for our medical volunteers
  • A Dump truck for carrying construction material and other tools
