DMS Dance For A Dream
On February 17th, 2007, hundreds of people from Dartmouth Medical School, Dartmouth College and the Upper Valley community of New Hampshire and Vermont attended Dance for a Dream, a fundraiser hosted by Dartmouth Medical School students to benefit Village Health Works. The day included 10 hours of music and dancing, with performances by Dartmouth and local children's dance and music groups and instruction by local dance instructors. Deogratias Niyizonkiza, the founder of Village Health Works, and Tracey Kidder, a member of the advisory board, both spoke at the event. The community responded very enthusiastically and the medical students raised over $35,000, which will go directly to Village Health Works to help cover infrastructure costs associated with building the Kigutu Community Health Center. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make Dance for a Dream so successful.
