Guiding Principles
VHW’s work is guided by the following key principles that ground us in our efforts and drive our work forward:
Community Engagement

First and foremost, in this kind of work no sustainable results can be achieved without community engagement and strong partnerships with those being served.
Compassion, Dignity & Respect

When compassion, dignity and respect come together, expect excellence. With respect for all who enter our campus either seeking service or volunteering their time, we strive to treat everyone just the same way each one of us wants to be treated.
Solidarity & Partnerships

Education and Training
Treat and educate! VHW’s holistic approach to health and wellbeing isn’t limited to just curing disease. Indeed, lack of high-quality education is one of the major root causes of poverty and misery.
Hope
Where there is health, there hope. Sparking new hope for health, education and economic opportunities is the foundation upon which we build a healthy, peaceful, productive and self-sufficient society.
Professionalism
Professionalism is a pre-requisite for our work. We highly value the importance of the ability to work as a group toward a common vision while respecting every patient, every member of the team and community, as well as the environment in which we work.
